Medical mos marines9/3/2023 ![]() ![]() I’m not saying it’s “that” bad, but after you’ve already had a taste of respect and the honor and privilege of being a leader, it certainly isn’t good. You will get to your unit and be constantly babied for committing the heinous crime of being a junior enlisted soldier. Since you’ll only be a Specialist, almost no one will care about your prior service. You had a long break in service, which means they’ll make you do basic training again. You say that now, but you must seriously consider what this means. On a positive note, I love the Army over the Marine Corps on any day of the week. You already fell for the recurring b******* once try not to do it again. You can always try later to see what opens up later down the road. Just walk away, grab your DD214 and just walk away. If they are offering you options that you don't want to take, don't be a bitch. The same principal applies for prior service going into the Army. Think about it as the Marine Corps offers you the opportunity to become a Marine and the job is secondary. Artillery, air defense artillery or paralegal. For example I was offered different MOSs. The prior service business rules use to be updated quarterly but they haven't been updated since February 2020. You may see a long list of options but they may not be available about time you go to meps and pick your job. Basically they are looking at what spots need to be filled by the appropriate rank. The Army has certain spots they have to fill and its pretty easy to understand what the requirements are when you read Prior serivce business rules. Regardless of your past association with the Marine Corps, You are basically reenlisting in the Army without a job. The recruiter may not like it but he/she has to give you a ride back to the recruiting station. If not, walk the fuck away, talk to somebody higher until you get those things, a plan to get those things, or figure out the why you can't get it. One of the options not even being on the business rules list.Īssuming you don't have a bachelors, ensure you get E-4 in your contract and a job you think you may like. to figure out some stuff out with a grain of salt. Some questions have already been asked and answered. Somebody else mentioned the prior service business rules. My recruiter was brand new and it was a simple process. The link below is what I believe is the current standard for prior service. Do not answer n00b questions on the main boards.
